Kicking Off 2025 With Momentum 🚀
As we close out the first quarter of 2025, I’m incredibly proud of the progress we’ve made and the momentum we’ve built. From securing new investment to welcoming fresh talent to the team, every milestone this quarter has brought us one step closer to our mission of transforming how peptide-based materials are developed and delivered.
We also released our second video-based SOP, designed to help researchers and partners get up to speed quickly with using our hydrogels. It’s a step toward making our technology even more accessible and user-friendly.
And it’s been fantastic to be back out at conferences, reconnecting with peers, sharing our story, and learning from others at the cutting edge of biotech innovation.
Thank you to our partners, supporters, and the entire PeptiMatrix team for helping make Q1 such a strong start to the year. There’s much more to come — and I’m excited for what we’ll achieve together in Q2 and beyond.

Funding Secured to Accelerate Growth
Earlier this year, we announced the successful close of our latest funding round — a key milestone that marked a major step forward for PeptiMatrix™. This investment has strengthened our ability to scale operations, expand R&D, and advance our mission to transform animal-free 3D cell culture with our peptide hydrogel technology.
We were also pleased to welcome Ashley Sowerby, founder of Chevin Fleet Solutions, as our newest investor and Board Observer. With over two decades of experience growing global tech businesses, Ashley brings invaluable insight and support as we continue to grow.
With this backing and the continued support of our partners and collaborators, we’re well-positioned to build on our momentum and bring next-generation in vitro modelling tools to the wider research community.
Welcoming a New Team Member
We were also thrilled to welcome Dr. Dammy Olayanju to the PeptiMatrix team. With a PhD in Pharmacology and Translational Medicine and a wealth of experience across academic, clinical, and commercial settings, Dammy brings a rare blend of scientific expertise and strategic insight.
Dammy has a proven track record of turning innovation into real-world impact — from developing solutions and building partnerships to driving growth in the biomedical sector.
His collaborative leadership style and deep industry knowledge make him a powerful addition as we scale operations and pursue our ambitious goals for 2025 and beyond.
We’re excited to have him on board as we enter this next chapter of growth and innovation.
Coming Together to Advance Animal-Free Research
In March, we had the pleasure of attending the Best Practice in Non-Animal Research Methods conference in York, where leaders from across the scientific community gathered to showcase cutting-edge advancements in human-relevant research. The message was clear: animal-free technologies are no longer just alternatives—they’re the future of science.
The event highlighted groundbreaking work in 3D cell culture, organoids, AI-driven models, and other human-specific tools that are transforming research accuracy and relevance. We were proud to contribute to these conversations by sharing how our fully synthetic, animal-free hydrogels are supporting the growth of complex cell models in fields like drug discovery, regenerative medicine, and disease modelling.
